Poetry and Art by Philipp Aurand
Mind Game
you’ve been out
from your pretty little mouth
vanilla
sour
& musk
the essence of my jealousy
draw a line through this moment
we’ll call it…
dignity
when I cross it
my pride will dissolve into something like adrenaline
heart pumping
swimming, against my better judgment
though it tends to win anyway
I’ll just cuddle close
curse my calm & say goodnight
it’s too late
The Soundtrack to Life
night sky full of stars
fading calmly to their death
dark into mourning
Grinding Off and On
Expanse of winter in her mind
breath near the heart it turns to frost
the fresh muffled thump of its beat
now makes a slow clicking sound
similar to that of a cold rusty switch
it must have worked at some point
La Ciudad Dormida
urban landscapes after dark
the moods and the possibilities
that, begin to bloom after midnight
push and pull creative minds
like a calm full moon on a restless ocean
charming it to pulse in tides
forcing it to flow
inviting it to ebb
the mind
an ancient full moon
static
stuck in a narrow present
set free
in an urban landscape
after dark
Popcult.
Authentic looking bamboo butterflies
in the uncertain space between decisions
distracted
a warm heart floats in cold cream soda
while the latest razorblade rose petals, playfully bury confident intentions
with euphoric distraction
& instant gratification
Lol.
